Longs Drugs POS Data, EDI 852, 830, 846, AS2
Longs Drugs is a chain of drug stores in Hawaii. Acquired by CVS in 2008, at one point the chain had over 500 stores located primarily on the West Coast of the United States. The chain was founded in Oakland, CA in 1938 and saw the majority of its growth through acquisitions. Upon the 2008 purchase by CVS the mainland US stores were converted to the CVS brand. All Hawaiian stores have kept operating under the Longs Drugs banner "because of its high name recognition and the geographical separation [from the rest of the United States]". The Longs Drugs Hawaiian stores are not affiliated with the Longs banner of stores located in South and North Carolina and Georgia.
