Elder-Beerman POS Data, EDI 852
Elder-Beerman is a chain of department stores founded in 1883. Elder-Beerman is primarily located in the Midwest, with locations in eight states. Elder-Beerman was acquired by The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc in 2003. At that point Elder-Beerman had exited the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing from 1995 and was in discussions to go private when The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc stepped in offering more cash for outstanding stock. In 2012, The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc began re-branding several Elder-Beerman stores to some of its other nameplates. Several in Michigan and Indiana have been converted to Carson Pirie Scott or Younkers.
